Feeling nervous about the arrival of your second baby?
The transition from one child to two is an exciting but overwhelming prospect. With practical strategies and some useful tips, you can grow in confidence, support your older child and adapt to this change with ease.
The Preparing for Two Workshop is delivered by midwife Hannah, and doula and hypnobirthing practitioner Chloe, creators of 5* rated Hello Baby antenatal classes and both mums of two. Weekend morning workshops provide a sociable and relaxed environment where you have an opportunity to focus on the arrival of your new baby, and meet a group of local second time parents-to-be to share the joys and challenges with you.
The workshop is designed to meet the unique needs of parents with a child below school age who are preparing to welcome a new baby into their family. Topics include: preparing your older child and introducing them to their new sibling, challenging behaviours and how to support your child, and managing the changes in family dynamics. You will learn valuable tips to navigate the early days, including getting out and about with a young child and baby, and managing bath, nap and bedtime routines with two.
Workshops are taught in Bushey, near Watford in Hertfordshire, and we recommend you attend when you are around 26-36 weeks pregnant. Many clients expecting a second baby also choose to book a one-to-one Birth and / or Breastfeeding Refresher Session alongside the Preparing for Two Workshop (see details below).
